Inners Relaxed Elastics 3-Pk

Our products go through rigorous Quality Check procedures and if they do not meet our standards, they get set aside. As a brand with a central mission of reducing waste, we knew we had to come up with a plan for these Inners with weaker-than-usual elastics.

The elastic spool that was used in this run of Inners proved to not be as resilient as we require. These Inners will appear perfect at first (which is why the issue initially went undetected). After 5-10 washes you will start to notice that the elastic loses it's scrunch and there will be some gapping at the legs when you put the diaper on your baby.

Does this mean they won't function well as a diaper? Absolutely not. Simply secure the Inner on as you normally would and then cover it up with a well fitting Outer. The diaper cover will cinch it all together and leave you with a diaper you can count on.

How will these Inners function differently than a regular Esembly Inner? For those familiar with different cloth diaper styles, these Inners with relaxed elastics will perform like a prefold, flat or contour. You will be relying more on the diaper cover for containment than the Inner itself. In other words, expect to have more poo than usual escape the cotton onto the inside of your Outer. When using these Inners, you will likely go through more Outers in a day than you normally would.

How about the fit? Initially these Inners will fit exactly the same as our regular Inners. As the elastics loosen up, the diaper will elongate (see image above). This difference will be more noticeable for babies on the lower end of the weight range than babies in the middle or top end.

Esembly cloth diapers are made up of two products: an absorbent Inner organic cotton fitted diaper and a waterproof Outer diaper cover (sold separately). 

Our Inner cloth diapers swaddle your baby in soft, thirsty unbleached organic cotton. This is the part of the diaper that provides the absorbency. To ensure its effectiveness, we've designed our Inners with a 'butterfly' layered core that maximizes thirstiness, while also allowing Washing Powder and water to penetrate deeply in the wash and decreasing time in the dryer.

Our Inner cloth diapers come in two sizes and are made to grow with your baby from birth to potty training. The waist snaps allow for adjustments to accommodate expanding bellies, while the rippled core and stretchy elastic at the legs will expand as your babe gets taller.

Please note that all-natural fibers like our unbleached organic cotton can feel slightly damp to the touch when fully saturated. This should not cause your baby any discomfort. If extra moisture-wicking is desired, our washable fleece Stay-Dry Liners can be added to your Inner. For those who wish to have only natural, organic fibers against their baby's skin, the Inner should be used with no Stay-Dry Liner.

Once your baby starts sleeping in longer sleep stretches, you'll want to add an Overnighter nighttime cloth diaper booster or two to the diaper to increase absorbency. 

Tossers or Stay-Dry Liners can be incorporated to help remove the solid poo prior to laundering once your baby begins eating solid foods. (poop removal is NOT necessary when your baby is on a milk-only diet).

We do not recommend using Inners without a waterproof cloth diaper cover like our Outer.

Put a fresh Inner on your baby at each change.

Cover the Inner with a waterproof Outer diaper cover to complete the diaper.

We recommend changing an awake baby every 2-3 hours, or immediately if poop is detected.

When soiled, set cloth diaper aside in Day Bag, Ditty Bag or Pail Pouch until you launder with our Washing Powder every 2-3 days.

Follow our step-by-step Esembly Wash Instructions to launder. Be sure to never soak your diapers in anything (not even plain water) as it can lead to premature degradation of the fabric resulting in fraying and holes.
